Tau Maonh

It was a sunny day outside. Phorn Vanny was the interviewer for one elderly man who offered to tell his story. The man’s name is Tau Maonh, and he is 63 years old. He vaguely remembers, but he claimed that is was very hard on him since January 7th, 1975. That because of his father who have watched over and feed him, he was able to live until today. During the regime, he was assigned to dig canals, but everyone has to do it no matter where they came from. For food, all he had was liquid porridge twice a day; morning and evening. It was divided 1 can per unit. He also have seen people taken away to be killed, but he didn’t want to speak out loud. He was scared. During the regime, many of his relative died and because of his chronic disease today, he does not remember who.
