Bak Nim village is a place of natural beauty, where the mountains rise majestically into the sky and the rivers flow freely through the valleys. The forests are dense and lush, providing a home for countless species of wildlife. Creeks meander through the landscape, their gentle babbling providing a soothing soundtrack to the peaceful surroundings. The mountains offer breathtaking views from their peaks, while the rivers provide opportunities for fishing and water sports. These breathtaking views make Bak Nim village a heaven for all nature enthusiasts.
On another trip to the village, DCCAM’s volunteers observed the dramatic contrast between the community’s beautiful present and its terrible past. Every survivor interview became a new opportunity to memorialize a lesson that could teach future generations about the importance of valuing human life. By educating young people about these events, we not only preserve history and seek justice, we also work towards creating a better future.
