Huy Horn

There were coconut trees surrounding his house, and animals roamed on his land, creating a beautiful scene. The man’s name is Huy Horn and he is 67 years old. He recalls that in 1974 the Khmer Rouge required him to live and eat together with other villagers. Every day, he was told by Angkar to work endlessly without rest. During that time, it seemed like everyone works the same, eats the same, and does the same things; however, he explained, people felt different things based on their perspective. Even the smallest details of life can change the harshness of reality. Huy Han explained that he was a member of the mobile unit and that his exhaustion was primarily due to overworking rather than being terrorized. Other people experienced different things that made their perspective different.
