My name is Ieng Sochea who has recently discontinued my education after completing 10th grade. My career aspiration is to partner with Nou Chailen to establish a salon in my village. I am thrilled and enthusiastic to serve as a volunteer for DC-Cam, as it affords me an opportunity to assist my community while gaining a deeper understanding of their needs. Despite encountering various obstacles, such as repeated visits to residences where interviewees were absent and encountering hostile villagers who rebuffed my efforts, I remained undeterred. Initially hesitant to accept the volunteer position, Vanny encouraged me, assuring me that it would be a valuable experience. He was correct; this work has expanded my knowledge and skills beyond what I would typically learn in a classroom setting.
