Mok Rith

A young woman is sitting on a wooden deck in the outdoors. She has dark short hair wearing a pink shirt and floral folded skirt. The sky above looks clear and blue, providing an idyllic backdrop for this peaceful moment outside. She turned her head and saw us. She smiled faintly and waved her hand. We then walked towards her and introduced ourselves. She understood our request and allowed us to sit beside her, and she began to speak. Her name is Mok Rith, 53 years old, a farmer living in Bak Nim, Kampot province. She has studied until1985 and even graduated with diploma. Long after the Khmer Rouge ended was when she found out her 3 older siblings had died in the regime. It pains her to remember as tears fallen down her cheeks. We sat in silent for a while and as she calms down, we end our interview with respect and gratitude.
