Sok Sokhom

Sok Sokhom, aged 73, spends her time at home due to knee pain. She was able to pursue studies until Grade 1, which was considered relatively advanced during that era. However, in 1971, her education was abruptly discontinued as she needed to support her family. She began working as a police officer during the Lon Nol regime. When the Khmer Rouge came to power, she still served as one of Lon Nol’s soldiers, leading to her evacuation to Lbaek commune in Chhouk district until 1980. Subsequently, she was relocated to Kampong Chen and worked as a teacher until 1990, when she resigned due to numbness in her legs. Since then, she has engaged in farming to provide for her family.
