Sok Srey Aun, aged 53, currently works as a farmer. During the Khmer Rouge regime, when she was just 5 years old, she was tasked with pulling out grass in the rice fields, collecting cow dung, cutting down trees for fertilizer, and gathering vegetable roots. She did not receive sufficient nourishment as her diet consisted mainly of rice and sweet potatoes, but she did not know how to consume the potatoes. Tragically, she lost two relatives during that period. In 2000, she married her husband, Ieng Song, and they have five children.
